Illustration Friday - Shadows

As promised, here is my IF entry for this week's topic "Shadows".

When I think of shadows, I think of campfires and ghost stories, deep, dark woods and the power of the imagination to see things in the dark.  I also wanted to work on my cross hatching.  I did this one with regular and fine point Sharpie markers on bristol paper.

Hope you like it!

I also like how you used the Sharpies for crosshatching. It has a really nice "artist's hand." Love that stick-like frame! And the owl is really cute!!

I like this..your use of crosshatching is good. It really looks like the fire lights up the middle of the picture and everything else is in shadow!

Thanks Sara, Ruth, Ann Marie and Rod for your comments. It means a lot that you took the time to look at my work and say such kind things. Truly. :)

Love the shadows and lighting. And the owl is such a character! Is he telling a scary story? It looks like he's just about to get to the really suspense filled part. :-)
